From the dulcet and pitch perfect tones of Christa Dalmazio singing “Till There Was You” from The Music Man to the high-octane performance by dancing duo Jaya Sondhi and Simi Sandhu with “Punjabi Kurdian,” a traditional, modern Indian dance, this year’s Upper School Coffee House was an exhilarating mix of fresh, young talent and contagious energy.
These were just a few of the dozen Ranney students who delivered powerful and captivating performances to a roomful of appreciative family and friends gathered in The Commons Black Box Theater on Friday, November 20.
Presented by Ranney’s Performing Arts Department and organized by John Doyle, the November Coffee House was an exciting program of singers, dancers and musicians. Tess Nielsen, Performing Arts Chair, accompanied several student vocalists on the piano, while Hannah Simpson and Evelyn Giovine introduced each performer.
This year’s entertainers were:
Ben Mooney, piano/vocal - “Hey Jude”
Christa Dalmazio, vocalist - “Till There Was You” and piano “First Arabesque”
