Ranney School will celebrate 50 years of the performing and visual arts this month with a special two-day event entitled Vision & Voices. The programs will take place on Friday, March 19, and Saturday, March 20, at 7:00 p.m. in RSPA Panther Hall and the Gallery.
Vision & Voices, is a multi-media event dedicated to telling the Ranney story, then and now. Ranney Vision features the unveiling of an 18-foot mural celebrating 50 years of academic and artistic excellence at Ranney. The exhibition will include stories, quotes and photographs of alumni who studied art at Ranney, while displaying the works of current art students from all three school divisions.
Ranney Voices is a multi-media history of the school’s growth, featuring nostalgic photos and video clips spanning the last 50 years, as well as live performances from Ranney’s Count Basie Award-winning theater students, prize-winning forensics performers and outstanding choral performers.
According to Head of School Dr. Lawrence S. Sykoff, “Throughout Ranney’s rich history, the performing and visual arts have played a significant role in the successful growth and development of our school and our students. We are proud to commemorate our Golden Anniversary with this special evening of the arts then and now.”
