Heather Flynn, a Ranney School senior, has been named a 2010 National Merit Scholarship Finalist. She joins a distinguished cadre of academically gifted high school seniors across the nation who excelled on the preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT).
The National Merit Scholarship Program honors individual students who demonstrate exceptional academic ability and potential for success in rigorous college studies. As a finalist, Heather will be notified in the spring if she is one of the 8,200 recipients of the 2010 National Scholarship.
“We are extremely proud that one of our students has been selected for this prestigious honor. It is a testament to the exemplary academic skills of our students, as well as to our distinguished faculty who have prepared them so well,” said Ranney Head of School Dr. Lawrence S. Sykoff.
During her time at Ranney, Heather has amassed numerous honors and awards. An AP Scholar with Distinction, she is a member of the National Honor Society, Science National Honor Society and Spanish National Honor Society, among others.
