On Thursday, May 27, nine Ranney alumni and two long-time administrators will be inducted into the Ranney Panther Athletics Hall of Fame, as part of the Upper School Athletics Convocation in RSPA Panther Hall.
This year’s alumni honorees, the second group to be initiated into this elite group of former student athletes, includes:

Phillip Kurdyla, Class of 1994 –
Soccer, Swimming and Baseball
Amy Fass, Class of 1998 –
Tennis, Basketball, Swimming and Softball
Mickey Kaplan, Class of 1998 –
Tennis, and Basketball
David Capezza, Class of 2001 –
Soccer, Swimming and Baseball
John Jaravata, Class of 2001 –
Basketball and Golf
Lindsay Minerva, Class of 2005 –
Field Hockey, Basketball and Lacrosse
Alexandra Salani, Class of 2005 –
Cross Country, Swimming and Track
Also being honored this year will be Director of Aquatics Emmett Walling, who celebrates his 30th year at Ranney this year, along with Head of School Dr. Lawrence Sykoff, who has been a driving force during the tremendous growth and expansion of the athletics program.
The purpose of the Hall of Fame is to recognize and honor former Ranney athletes, past and present coaches and other deserving members of the Ranney community that have made a positive contribution to the athletic program.
Eligibility for nomination to the Hall of Fame will begin the fifth year after the nominee graduates from Ranney School and nominees must have been outstanding in the areas of citizenship, character, integrity and good moral fiber while at Ranney School.
This year’s honorees will also be acknowledged at this year’s Alumni Spring Reception on Friday, May 21, at The Downtown in Red Bank. Classmates and friends are invited to attend.
