RSPA Celebrates Its Parent Volunteers

Even though the school year is far from over, and the Ranney community can expect a number of both small and large events to occur between now and the end of the year, the Ranney Parents’ Associations took time on Wednesday, April 21, to thank all the parent volunteers who have made 2009-2010, our 50th year, one of our most memorable.

During a special breakfast held in RSPA Panther Hall, Sue Grosso, RSPA president, and members of the Executive Board thanked the numerous parents who volunteered this year to chair and work on an almost endless number of friend and fundraising committees, including everything from Panther Cubs, Fall Festival and the Holiday Express Concert, to Book Fairs and Garden Sales, the 50th Anniversary Fashion Show and the Golden Gala. Sue warmly thanked the Executive Board members for “an amazing year,” praising their leadership and saying, “You are an inspiration to our school community and our children.” Each committee chair was then recognized and presented with a token of appreciation for their hard work and commitment to the school.

In addition, the breakfast served as the second general meeting of the Parents’ Association for the year, when three new members were nominated to serve on the RSPA Executive Board for 2010-2011, including Kathy Dodge, Melissa Stevenson and Cathy Romano.
