Head of School Dr. Lawrence S. Sykoff was recently honored by the American Cancer Society (ACS), Jersey Shore Region, on Monday, July 12, during an awards ceremony at the Manasquan River Country Club.
Head of School Dr. Lawrence S. Sykoff was recently honored by the American Cancer Society (ACS), Jersey Shore Region, on Monday, July 12, during an awards ceremony at the Manasquan River Country Club.
As the 2010 Honorary Chairperson of the American Cancer Society’s 31st Annual Jersey Shore Golf Classic, Dr. Sykoff was honored for his longstanding support and commitment to the organization’s fight against cancer. This year’s Golf Classic raised more than $200,000 and, as in years past, the money raised will be used to support cancer research, education, advocacy, and patient service programs in local communities.
During the evening, Dr. Sykoff was also recognized, on behalf of New Jersey Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr., with a Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition for his ongoing community service and dedication to the ACS mission.
Community responsive, Dr. Sykoff serves as a member of the Eastern Division of the American Cancer Society’s Board of Directors and as a member of the Regional Advisory Board of the American Cancer Society’s Board of Trustees. He is also a member of the Board of Trustees of the Count Basie Theatre where he was recently named Grad Gala Honoree for his outstanding commitment to education and the arts and is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Riverview Medical Center Foundation, both in Red Bank.
Also honored at the July 12 ceremony were Suzanne and Jeffrey Citron who were chosen 2010 Honorees of this year’s ACS Jersey Shore Golf Classic.
