Beginners participated in a long-standing Ranney tradition on Friday, September 24, when they visited the Upper and Middle School Academic Complex and visited with Head of School Dr. Lawrence Sykoff.
Following a walk across campus to the “big” school, Beginners sat in a circle outside the Paulus Library to hear a special book reading by Dr. Sykoff, who was joined by puppet “Ranney Dog”. Then each class visited the Headmaster’s office, posed for photos and received individual Ranney teddy bears wearing blue Ranney t-shirts.
From the teacher’s reactions, it appeared as if the visit was as much fun for them as it was for the three-year olds. For most of the Beginners this was their first visit to the Upper and Middle School Academic Complex, even though some may have older siblings at Ranney. It certainly is a place they will come to know well as they progress and grow.
