Students & Faculty Rock the Runway for RSPA

Ranney parents, students, faculty and friends rocked the runway during the annual Parents’ Association Fashion Show at Eagle Oaks Country Club in Farmingdale on Friday, February 11, 2011. Surrounded by approximately 300 family members and friends in the audience, student and faculty models from the Middle and Upper Schools took to the runway wearing today’s latest trends.
Models strutted their stuff while rocking out to the student-led Tor Miller Band — all to benefit a Parents’ Association Divisional Speaker Program and faculty professional development programs.

The sold-out evening included a chance raffle, featuring an array of gift baskets and prizes for both parent and child, including spa and gift certificate packages, one-of-a-kind designer items, jewelry, accessories, toys and more. In addition, a silent auction featured highly sought-after parties with some of Ranney’s favorite faculty members: a Mexican Fiesta with Señora Hernandez, bowling with Mr. Ketcham and Mr. Ling, sushi and hibachi with Mr. Materasso, a sculpting party with Mrs. Levine, a swim party with Coach Walling, crepe-making with Madame Rosenthal and a day at the beach with Mrs. Guadagno.

Following dinner and chance raffle drawings, Ranney students, faculty and administrators took to the runway dressed fashionably, courtesy of Lynne’s, Fresh Boutique, Nirvana, Brave New World, Michael Duru, Stacy Gemma, Gold Leaf and Glow. After presenting their merchandise on the catwalk, several featured vendors held a trunk show in the ballroom, donating 20% of all sales back to Ranney School.

This year’s fashion show was organized by chairwomen Tina Pflaster and Laura Pflaster, with assistance from RSPA Executive Board member Cathy Romano, RSPA President Sue Grosso and Executive Vice President Mimi Keenan. Overall, the event raised $20,000 for the Parents’ Association and provided families with a fun night out.
