Ranney School Announces New Leadership Roles

As Ranney School proudly welcomes its faculty, administration and pupils back for yet another great year of learning and fun, it would like to announce the professional advancement of three long-time employees within the community.

Lower Head of School Patricia Marshall will now also be the school’s new Associate Head for Academic Administration. Mrs. Marshall has contributed endless amounts of time and energy to the school and its community throughout her 12 year tenure at Ranney. Not only has she played an active role in organizing professional development opportunities for faculty and staff, but she has also led the school’s academic team through many 21st century learning initiatives including an innovative technology program and improved curriculum. Mrs. Marshall will work closely with Head of School Lawrence S. Sykoff, Ed.D., division heads, and academic deans to carry out the school’s Strategic Plan and assist in shaping educational programs.

While Joseph Tweed began his Ranney career as Assistant Head of the Upper School, Dean of Students and College Counseling and the varsity boys’ lacrosse coach in 2009, he took on a new role as Director of Admissions and Financial Aid this summer. The school is experiencing a period of impressive growth and Mr. Tweed, along with his new team, are currently developing several innovative admissions strategies in anticipation of a strong pool of applicants next year.

Commonly known as an Upper School history and digital media teacher, varsity cross country and track coach, and international travel supervisor, Noel Delgado, Ph.D. recently assumed Mr. Tweed's duties as Dean of Upper School Students. While continuing to teach and coach, Dr. Delgado will now also work with the Upper School leadership team as well as lead new international travel programs throughout the Middle and Upper Schools.

Mrs. Marshall, Mr. Tweed and Dr. Delgado — along with the school’s entire teaching staff, administration and Board of Trustee members — have given unparalleled devotion to the mission-promise … that every child will be known and valued. Congratulations to these outstanding professionals, who will lead Ranney through many new initiatives and extra-curricular offerings outlined in Ranney School's Strategic Plan.
