Students Have Spooktacular Halloween at Ranney

Creative costume ideas came to life as Ranney School celebrated Halloween with several spooktacular activities for students Beginners through grade 12 on Monday, October 31, 2011.

The day began with an apple cider and doughnuts reception for ninth through 12th graders in the Upper/Middle School Dining Hall. Replacing those who would normally appear as regularly dressed Upper School students were super heroes, crayons, animals and princesses. Faculty and staff joined in on the fun as well, mimicking basketball players, pirates, fictional characters and more.

On what turned out to be a crisp autumn afternoon, the Halloween festivities commenced with a parade around the school’s driveway. Led by Head of School Dr. Lightyear (also known as Dr. Sykoff) and Andrew Pepe ’23, Lower School teachers and students flaunted their costumes while bystanders including family, friends and other faculty members lined the sidewalks in show of their support.

No matter whether an astronaut, cowboy, nerd or boxer, all were dressed to impress — and certainly did — during yet another spooktacular Halloween at Ranney School.
