Ranney School Honored by Two Local Charities for Community Service Efforts

This October, the Ranney School community will be honored by two local organizations for its efforts to support Family and Children’s Service of Monmouth and Lunch Break.

Family and Children’s Service – October 5, Navesink Country Club

Ranney School and the Parents’ Association have been selected as one of three honorees at this year’s Family and Children’s Service Gala, An Evening of Southern Elegance, on Saturday, October 5th, at Navesink Country Club. The evening’s festivities include cocktails, dinner, and dancing to sounds of the popular band, New Life Crisis. In addition, there will be a raffle and live and silent auctions featuring hundreds of donated luxury items, tickets to professional sporting and entertainment events and vacation destinations. For the past two years, RSPA has hosted a clothing and accessories drive in conjunction with the annual “Rock the Runway” fashion show. This past winter’s clothing drive helped to restock FCS’s Thrift Shop, one of the organizations major sources of revenue, which was destroyed by Hurricane Sandy. Thanks to the efforts of the Ranney Community, the Thrift Shop was able to reopen, and the funds raised were able to support the programs FCS provides to those in Monmouth County. For more information on FCS, please visit their website.

Lunch Break – October 21, Navesink Country Club

Ranney School and Lunch Break have a long-standing relationship, from RSPA’s annual Fall Festival Food Drive, to division-organized food drives at Thanksgiving to various opportunities that students and faculty have had to serve the people that depend on its services. This year, Lunch Break will honor Ranney School as the Future Charitable Leaders Award, created to award an individual youth, youth organization or youth group that has demonstrated an exceptional display of care and concern to Lunch Break through service and leadership to others.

Lunch Break is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year at the Fall Gala, which will take place on Monday, October 21, at Navesink Country Club. For information on purchasing tickets or supporting the event, please click here.
