Lower School Students Celebrate Parents’ Day

Lower School children were excited to welcome their parents and grandparents to Ranney School’s annual Parents’ Day celebration on May 9th. Students from Beginners (age 3) through third grade celebrated their parents through music on the Roberts Stage in RSPA Panther Hall. Each grade sang multiple musical selections directed by music teachers Dot Lippart and Lisa Geene. Following each performance, students welcomed their special guests back to their classrooms to gift them with homemade crafts. As a result of the Sponsor a Book Program held at Grandparents’ and Friends’ Day in November, grandparents who sponsored a book for their grandchild were able to read it to them in the Searle Library before they went back to class.

Later in the day, it was fourth and fifth graders’ turn to welcome their parents to campus. Students participated in a “fun run” around the Ranney campus alongside their friends, teachers, parents and Head of School Dr. Griffith. At the finish line, all participants received a medal and were invited to the Dining Hall for healthy snacks and smoothies.
