Students Participate in Campus-Wide Lunch Break Food Drive

Over the past few weeks, students across all three divisions have been collecting food for Lunch Break, a local charity based in Red Bank that provides food, clothing and fellowship to community members in need, for the organization’s annual food drive. Each year, in honor of Lunch Break’s anniversary, a food drive is held in May. A new goal is set every year and in 2014 the goal was to collect 50,000 pounds of non-perishable and healthy food. With a strong passion for community service and giving back, Ranney students, parents and teachers all came together once again in an annual effort to gather an impressive amount of donations.

In the Lower School, students collected a total of 4,239 pounds of food. Middle School students contributed 1,960 pounds and the Upper School collected more than 6,000 pounds. Overall, Ranney School donated approximately 12,199 pounds of food to Lunch Break. All donations were dropped off at Red Bank Middle School, who hosted the FoodStock 2014 Event with children’s activities and live entertainment.
