Fifth-Graders “Cross the Lawn”

On Tuesday, June 10, Ranney School’s Class of 2021 “Crossed the Lawn” from the Lower School to the Middle School. After a breakfast with their families and teachers, the 63 fifth-graders processed into RSPA Panther Hall for the ceremony. Students recited “I Am” poems where they described their passions and characteristics about themselves and enjoyed a class video. Patricia L. Marshall, Head of Lower School since 1999, thanked the students for their leadership in the Lower School, their hard work and their remarkable service to the community during her last year as head of the division. This year, she assumed her new role as Assistant Head of School for Academics. Following a special welcome from Head of Middle School David Fischer, the students concluded the ceremony with a performance of the hit song “Happy” by Pharrell Williams. The fifth-grade then crossed the lawn to the Middle School building, surrounded by Lower School students and teachers, their families and friends.
