Keenan, Ayers '17 Earn Bronze at Soccer Invitaional

Two members of the Ranney School Varsity Boys’ Soccer team, Noah Ayers ’17 and Shane Keenan ’17, played pivotal roles as the Ocean U15 Boys’ Soccer team reached the semifinals and tied for 3rd place in the Central Jersey Invitational in New Jersey this past weekend. The tournament highlight was a 2-0 upset win over Penn Fusion FC – the 8th ranked team from the state of Pennsylvania. Goalkeeper Noah Ayers got the clean sheet, with help from defensive midfielder and fellow Panther Shane Keenan. Their club team finished the season as the 24th ranked team in New Jersey, playing against the top soccer clubs from New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Maryland and Virginia. Shane will continue to prepare for the upcoming season at a college ID camp run by Northwestern University at the end of July. Both boys are looking forward to returning to Karagianakis Field to continue to play in the Shore Conference with the rest of the Panthers this fall.
