Surprise Celebration for Coach Walling at Swim Meet

Ranney students surprised Coach Emmett Walling today at his last Home Swim Meet with a mini celebration.
Ranney students surprised Coach Emmett Walling today at his last Home Swim Meet with balloons, cake and a life preserver and framed photo signed by students across all divisions. The Ranney Aquatics Director since 1980, Coach Walling will be retiring at the end of the school year after 35 seasons of coaching and teaching children how to love, and be safe in, the water. Athletic Director Bobby Malone, Head of School Dr. John W. Griffith and students shared kind words about their beloved coach. This is the first of many celebrations to come honoring Mr. Walling, including events with Panther alums.
