Students Take Top Prize at Coding Event

Computer programming is growing in schools across America and right here at Ranney.
While many Ranney families were shoveling out from the Presidents’ Day weekend snow, Raymond Moser ’15 (Shrewsbury), Brandon Gioggia ’16 (Belford), Amy Winkler ’15 (Manasquan), Coleen Ross ’15 (Morganville) and Ava Papetti ’15 (Colts Neck) competed as a team in Code Day; teams were given 24 hours to solve a problem or build a project. The national student programming event took place at the same time in various cities across the country. Ranney students competed at Drexel University in Philadelphia and won the Top Overall prize.

Ranney students in all divisions-Lower, Middle and Upper-participated in the national Hour of Code earlier this school year. Read the back story.

The next national Code Day event is May 23-24, 2015.
