Beginners Take Virtual Field Trips
Our youngest students have visited New York, Florida and more by "visiting" grownups and places through Skype.
Ranney Beginners are getting a taste of technology—and the world—in their classes this year through a series of virtual field trips. The three-year-olds are Skyping with parents and other grownups.
This week, they “visited” and asked questions of parent Mr. Giordano who showed his office, the view of New York City from his window, and his office’s kitchen—which the kids liked the most, says teacher Mrs. Engles. On another virtual field trip this week, a student’s grandmother took the children on a tour of Florida’s Wakodahatchee Wetlands, where the kids were able to see egrets, trees growing in the water and an alligator!
