Varsity Track and Field Continues to Finish High

Congrats to senior Kate Crilly on her top-10 finish at the Shore Conference Track and Field Championships on May 21, held at Central Regional High School. The veteran hurdler, sprinter, triple jumper and rookie long jumper finished 9th in the long jump with a leap of 15-9. Kate also finished in the middle of the pack in the 100, 200, and triple jump.
 
The flying Fitzmaurices once again achieved personal records. Liam '17 finished the 1600 in a personal record of 4:42.04, and took more than 4 seconds off his 800, finishing 3rd in his heat in a time of 2:08.82. Shana '19 ran a school record time of 5:26, taking 3rd in her heat and 13th overall. In the 800, Shana ran her second-fastest career time, finishing 6th in her heat and 33rd overall.
 
The team traveled to Newark Academy on May 25 for the Prep B Championships, during which Mike Zheng tied for 6th in the long jump! Mike jumped a 15-11, earning a new personal record by more than a foot and a half! Next up is the NJSIAA Sectional Championships May 27-28 at Central Regional.
