Track & Field Athletes Medal at NJISAA Sectionals

Update June 3, 2016: Shana Fitzmaurice crushed the school record in the 1600M at the State Group Championship and qualified for the Meet of Champions taking place June 8. Her brother, Liam, also broke the school record in the 1600M at the State Group Meet.

Three Ranney athletes entered the NJISAA Sectional Championships at Central Regional High School over Memorial Day Weekend—and all three came away with medals and a berth in the NJSIAA Group Championships, set for June 3, 2016.

Shana Fitzmaurice '19 led off with a 4th place finish in the 1600 on May 27, in 5:30.9.  Liam Fitzmaurice '17 took a 6th place finish in the 1600, in 4:43.38, a few tenths shy of his current school record.

On May 28, Shana picked up her second medal, a 4th in the 800, in 2:29.63  a new personal record. Kate Crilly '16 took a giant leap of 16 feet, 7 and three-quarter inches in the long jump to snag 2nd place and a new personal record.  Her jump leaves her just 1 and one-quarter inch shy of the school record.

The three athletes move on to the NJSIAA Non-Public Group Championships on June 3-4 at North Burlington Regional High School.
