Fifth-Grade Mandarin Language Students Create Greeting Cards

Fifth-grade Mandarin Chinese students in Mrs. Zhou's class made special greeting cards in Chinese characters. The cards are a gift for the Lower School Division Head, Dr. Andrea Danial, as the students complete their final Lower School year of world language instruction.

When they move onto Middle School next year, they will be able to choose whether to continue Mandarin or to switch to French or Spanish as part of their language studies. Children at Ranney begin to learn all three world languages in our Early Childhood program. By the time they reach the Upper School, they are able to take AP World Language courses and often excel in national language exams.
