Sailing Team Captures 2017 State Championship

On Saturday April 29, 10 area schools competed  in the eighth annual New Jersey High School State Sailing Championship at Shrewsbury Sailing & Yacht Club. With wind gusts of 16-18 knots, the Ranney sailors were able to hold off a very talented Southern Regional High School team and capture the State Championship. The team was awarded the Elizabeth Olsen perpetual trophy.

The win marks Ranney’ s first State Championship since joining the Interscholastic Sailing Association last year. The team heads to Boston next week to compete in the ISSA National Championships Regatta at MIT.

Congratulations to the Ranney sailors and Coach Clay Johnson on this tremendous victory!
