Ava Jacoby Selected into All Shore Chorus

Ava Jacoby '19 earned a score of 107 to once again be accepted into All Shore Chorus this year. She will be representing the Ranney School Choral Program and will perform in concert with the group in February. Ava auditioned last year as a sophomore and made it in her voice category, and this year, she improved on her score.

This year marks the 56th concert year of the All Shore Chorus.  The coalition was formed by choral directors who wanted to challenge their best students to sing masterworks of choral repertoire and expose the students to complex music that they might not experience in their regular music classrooms. The group always brings in a guest conductor to lead and teach the students.

High School Choral Directors in Monmouth and Ocean Counties may sponsor members of their high school choirs for the auditions.  An auditioning student must be in grades 9-12 and in good choral and academic standing, and must be highly qualified singers from Monmouth and Ocean County high schools.

If a student is selected, they are required to spend seven hours a week in rehearsals, starting in January, as well as put in many outside hours of work. Their efforts are then showcased at the culminating concert, scheduled for February 3, 2018.ei
