Abbi Schaaff Accepted to the All-Shore Jazz Band

Abbi Schaaff, Class of 2021, auditioned on Tuesday, Jan. 16 for the All-Shore Jazz Band and was accepted into the 4th seat in the trombone section of the B band.  
 
Abbi is a member of the Upper School Jazz Band and auditioned at Holmdel High School, performing an excerpt from the piece Solar Flare from the Jamey Abersold jazz series and a sight reading example.  She played a "blind" audition in front of judges representing jazz band directors from Ocean and Monmouth counties.  
 
Abbi was among five Ranney Jazz Band students who auditioned for these bands and I hope that others will continue to audition for this very selective organization.  
 
The performance is scheduled for Saturday, February 3 at Freehold Boro High School.
