Bryan Antoine Selected as the 2018 Kerwin Award Winner

On Tuesday, February 27, Ranney junior Bryan Antoine will be honored as the recipient of the 45 th annual Margaret M. and James J. Kerwin Award, which annually names the most outstanding male and female basketball players at the New Jersey Shore. Dara Mabrey of Manasquan was chosen as the outstanding female basketball player.

“Bryan Antoine is an outstanding athletic talent,” said Kerwin family spokesperson Peggy Kerwin Fleischer. “He is a great pure shooter, he can shoot three’s and can showcase his talent driving to the basket.”

“Bryan can fight for the rebound and block the shot,” said Kerwin Fleischer. “He’s quick and can steal the ball, often finishing with an impressive dunk.”

The 6-5 guard is the second player from Ranney School to receive the Kerwin Award after classmate Scottie Lewis won the award in 2017. Antoine and Lewis are arguably the most dynamic duo at the Jersey Shore.

Antoine will receive the Kerwin Award tonight prior to the NJSIAA Non-Public South B Tournament first-round game against Wardlaw-Hartridge at 5:15 p.m. Antoine and his teammates are coming off a victory on Saturday night against Mater Dei that earned the Panthers the first-ever Shore Conference Tournament championship title.
