US Performers Earn Silver & Bronze at National Music Festival

Twenty-eight students and four adults representing the Ranney School Performing Arts Department headed to Williamsburg, Virginia for a three-day Heritage National Music Festival this past weekend. A repeat of last year’s national festival, the Upper School Jazz Band, Women’s Chorus and Show Choir once again returned home as winners!

After securing a gold medal and two second place finishes last spring, the group was eager to defend their title. Upon arriving in the heart of Colonial Williamsburg, the Panthers found themselves up against high schools spanning from Maryland to New Jersey to North Carolina and more. While award-winning performances from the Ranney Women’s Chorus and Show Choir earned both a silver medal during the event, the Upper School Jazz Band also finished third amongst all competing groups. What better way to end the weekend than with a visit to Busch Gardens Theme Park as well!

Congratulations to all who competed, and keep up the good work:

Ranney School would also like to personally congratulate Upper School performing arts student Hannah Simpson. This March, Hannah learned of her acceptance into an Interlochen Center for the Arts summer music theater program. Interlochen is internationally recognized for its exceptional training in the field of performing arts. Thus far, Hannah has shown outrageous potential in the arts, mainly through her bright spirit and talents on stage.
