A varsity track and field team member, Oladeji earned her spot in the Meet of Champions following an overall third place finish during both the 100 and 200-meter dash at the NJSIAA Non-Public ‘B’ Group Championships beginning Friday, June 1. In addition, Ranney finished 15th out of 25 competitors in the group meet.
Joined by teammate Natalie Cantave ’12 of Tinton Falls — who represented Ranney in the 400-meter Hurdles and triple jump — the ninth seeded Anike Oladeji powered past a pulled muscle for third with a time of 13.52 in the 100-meter dash on Friday afternoon. Next, it was on to the 200-meter dash on Saturday afternoon, where the fifth seeded Oladeji once again took third — this time with an electronic personal record of 26.51 — as she proudly qualified for multiple events at this year’s Meet of Champions. Oladeji’s invitation to attend the prestigious Meet of Champions marks Ranney’s third-ever qualifier since joining the conference in 2008. Past qualifiers have also included alumni Molly Wilgucki ’09 and Stephen D’Onofrio ’10, who took on the long jump and high jump in the spring of 2009.
Oladeji also made school history by being the first Ranney Panther ever to qualify for multiple events in the Meet of Champions. The Ranney athletic program has high hopes for Oladeji, who currently holds school records in each of her qualifying events, the 100-meter dash (12.5) and 200-meter dash (26.4). Alongside Natalie Cantave, Oladeji was also one of the first Ranney track and field members to ever compete in a Shore Conference competition this spring; a conference in which the school will officially become a member of this upcoming fall. Throughout the Shore Conference competition, Oladeji not only raced to a time of 13.19 in the 100-meter dash and 26.85 in 200-meter dash, but also finished 15th and 14th amongst approximately 40 other contenders.
Monday's Meet of Champions will serve as Oladeji’s last high school meet before heading off to run for the American University Eagles this fall.
A Summary of the Meet of Champions

As one of New Jersey’s top high school runners, Oladeji once again surpassed Ranney’s school record in the 200-meter dash, as she finished the event with her best electric time yet (26.5). Oladeji also finished the 100-meter dash in 13.0 seconds as she proudly represented Ranney at the Meet of Champions.
