Math Leaguers Are Heading to Nationals!
Lower & Middle School students earn top placement at state level.
Students from 15 area schools came to campus on April 30 as Ranney hosted the New Jersey State Math League Competition. Twenty-five of the 120-plus students in attendance were Ranney students. The following contenders placed at the top of the state contest and have now qualified for the national contest, taking place in June in Houston, Texas:
Evan Woska, 6th grade - 1st Place and 1st Place team overall
Hubert Wang, 6th grade - 2nd Place and 1st Place team overall
Sam Alston, 6th grade - 7th Place and 1st Place team overall
Jaren Nawy, 6th grade - 8th Place
Morgan Rice, 6th grade - 1st Place team overall
Leanid Boika, 4th grade - 10th Place
Participating schools included: Anthony Wayne Middle, Cedar Hill Elementary, Edgar Middle, Far Hills, Golda Och Academy, Joseph Kushner Hebrew Academy, Kent Place, Oak Hill Academy, Primoris Academy, Ranney School, Ridgewood Community, Rumson Country Day, Sacred Heart, Saint Leo the Great and Pingry School.
“I am so proud of all 25 of our students who qualified to attend today's competition,” said advisor and Middle School Math Teacher Jane Guadagno.
