Need-Based Financial Aid

Navigating the process together:

Families of students in Kindergarten through Grade 12 are eligible to apply for need-based financial aid. Currently 18% of our students receive need-based financial aid; the average award is approximately $11,000 (roughly $5,000-8,000 for grades K-5; $12,000 for grades 6-8; and $15,000-$20,000 for grades 9-12).

The Financial Aid application for the 2026-2027 school year will open after November 1st, 2025. The deadline to apply is December 1st, 2025 for returning families and January 15th, 2026 for new families (though families are encouraged to apply early).

To get started, please visit Clarity application, then create an account. The application process typically takes less than 30 minutes, although you can save your progress and return at any time to finish. There is a $65 fee to submit information; you can share your application with additional schools that accept the Clarity Application for no additional charge. Simply use the dropdown menu in the application to select those schools.

Please remember to return to your dashboard after you complete and submit your Clarity Application. The application itself is also fully translated into Spanish using the drop-down in the lower left corner.

If you need support during the process of completing your application:
  1. There is in-app support available through the “Help” button in the bottom left of the screen.
  2. Email support at support@clarityapp.com
  3. Phone support at 206.210.3752, in both English and Spanish.

Ranney’s Financial Aid Committee allocates financial aid awards after review of Clarity’s recommendation of need. Families must re-apply to renew their financial aid award each year, however assuming circumstances have not changed materially, a family can anticipate that their award will remain stable throughout the student’s tenure at Ranney.

“I've been spending these past few days wrapping my head around the new adventure my child's about to embark on, and am very excited at the thought of her attending Ranney School. I want to thank you for everything you have done in making this dream become a reality.”
