Ranney Lower School Chorus Participates in CJMEA Honors Chorus Festival

On Saturday, May 10th, 10 members of the Ranney Lower School Chorus participated in the CJMEA (Central Jersey Music Educators Association) Honors Chorus Festival at Monroe Township Middle School. Students must be nominated for this opportunity to sing in a day-long festival for elementary and intermediate students; they prepared the music prior to the festival on their own and in afterschool practice sessions.

Liam Braniff '32, Aanya Chadha '32, Suzanne Duarte '32, Carson Gray '33, Brooke Kwidzinski '33, Elliana Nadhim '33, Emma Rubin '32, June Severson '32, Lily Sopko '33, and Violet Tsahalis '32 spent the day singing, rehearsing, and learning with other students and chorus directors from schools throughout central New Jersey.

The Treble Chorus (grades 4-6) of 120 students performed Jambo Rafiki, Zephyr, Fly, Vuela, and Be Who You Are in the afternoon concert for families.

"This was a wonderful opportunity for our chorus students and we enjoyed spending the day together singing," said Lower School Chorus Director Mrs. Geene, who attended the concert with the students.
