Two Students Achieve Success at Delaware Valley Regional Science Fair

Following their success at the Jersey Shore Science Fair, Quinlan Miller '26 and Pu (Stephanie) Sang '28 presented their projects at the Delaware Valley Regional Science Fair (DVSF).
  • Environmental Science (12th Grade):  Quinlan Miller ‘26, Every Drop Counts: Using Intelligent Moisture Sensing to Conserve Water
  • Engineering (10th Grade): Pu (Stephanie) Sang ‘28,  Design of an early detection system for food spoilage based on a low-cost gas sensor
The DVSF is an affiliate of the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) where nearly 1000 students from Pennsylvania, Southern New Jersey, and Delaware compete in thirteen categories ranging from biochemistry to zoology.  In addition to awards for the best projects in each category, the fair also recognizes exceptional achievements through the presentation of over 45 special awards.

Quinlan placed 3rd in Environmental Science (12th Grade).  In addition, he received a Saint-Gobain Foundation Sustainability Award, given to eight high school student researchers who demonstrate sustainability, recycled material use, carbon reduction, and circular economy solutions. He was also the recipient of the Dietrich W. Botstiber Foundation Scholarship. This scholarship honors a student whose research is related to science, technology and commerce, or mitigating human-wildlife conflicts to promote coexistence worldwide.

Stephanie was recognized with an Office of Naval Research Naval Science Award. These awards are presented by the  United States Navy and Marine Corps to projects that demonstrate student learning about the chosen subject and scientific process, as well as the ability to discuss the work intelligently.

Congratulations to Quinlan and Stephanie on their hard work and achievements.
