Second Grade Students Present Through Book Talks

In Lower School Library and Media Studies class with Mr. Steele, second grade students spent several weeks taking on the role of the school librarian by showcasing books through book talks.

Students learned that book talks are short speeches that librarians and teachers make in order to promote specific books or series that might interest their students.

Students watched several book talks to identify the key components of these commercial-like speeches. They then picked books they planned to book talk.

After drafting scripts and rehearsing, students presented and filmed their book talks.
