Mila Krueger '33 Honored in Monmouth County Essay Contest

Mila Krueger '33 won second place in the Monmouth County Historical Commission’s 5th Grade Essay Contest. 

This year's essay contest tasked fifth grade students with either:
- writing about a Monmouth County historical place that the student has visited and how that placed helped him or her to appreciation Monmouth County and/or national history
or 
- writing about an event that is important to the student's family history. 

"Mila wrote about our field trip to the Monmouth Battlefield, our experience, and what she learned," said her fifth grade teacher Ms. Schuld. "She used lots of creative language to explain how she imagined what life was like during the American Revolution and then reflected on how this has led her to appreciate Monmouth County's and our nation's history in a new way."  
 
The awards ceremony will take place on Monday, June 1st at 7 pm in the County Commissioners Meeting Room in Freehold.
